Maps!

For today's class, students were introduced to maps, learned of their importance and how to read them.

Maps are visual documents that allow us to find places. With the attached worksheet, we collectively learned how to read one. Students learned that the various 'pictures' depicted on a map are called 'symbols'. Symbols represent landmarks present within a community.

Legends, or Map Keys, tell readers what the symbols represent.
